Due means second. Dance means exactly what you think. The name draws from Derek Sivers “How to Start a Movement” — where it's the second dancer, not the first, who turns a lone act into a movement. Studio Duedance plays that role for brands. Through bold, intentional design, we turn small bets into momentum, and momentum into a new wave.
듀(Due)는 ‘두 번째’, 당스(Dance)는 ‘춤’을 의미하며, Derek Sivers의 “How to Start a Movement”에서 강조된 ‘첫 번째로 춤추는 사람을 리더로 만들어주는 두 번째 춤추는 사람’에서 영감을 얻었습니다. 듀당스는 그 ‘두 번째 춤추는 사람’이 되어, 강력한 브랜드 디자인을 통해 작은 도전도 무브먼트로 전환시켜 브랜드의 새로운 흐름을 만들어 나갑니다.

네이버에서 브랜드 디자이너로 커리어를 시작한 조중현은 이후 IT 프롭테크 스타트업에서 최고 디자인 책임자(CDO)로 근무했습니다. 현재는 작동하는 디자인을 통해 고객의 비즈니스를 성장시키는 브랜드 디자인 스튜디오 듀당스를 이끌고 있으며, 금융권 엑셀러레이터 디캠프에서 자문 활동을 하고 있습니다.
또한 루브르 국립장식미술관의 Korea NOW! 전과 제5회 타이포잔치, 러시아 타이포 매니아 페스티벌 전시 등에 참여하였고, étape (프랑스), It's Nice That (미국) 등에 소개되었습니다. 모스크바 예술대학, 대만 곤산과학대학교, 한국 홍익대학교 등 여러 대학에서 초청을 받아 다양한 디자인 워크숍을 주최했으며, 한국 디자인 진흥 50주년을 기념한 '디자인코리아 페스티벌'과 Adobe 'Make It' 등 주요 디자인 행사에서 연사로 활동하고 있습니다.
더불어 국내 디자이너들과 협력하여 한국 고유의 콘텐츠를 포스터로 재해석한 '대강포스터제'를 기획 및 주도하고 있으며, 합정의 Osechill 오색칠, 홍대의 Slit 슬릿, 성수동의 Zagmachi 자그마치와 Orer 오르에르, 한남동의 Hibarin 히바린, 김창완이 즐겨 찾는 술집 Cheagbar 책바 등의 리테일 프로젝트부터 일민미술관의 '불멸사랑', 스타트업 탈잉과 로톡의 리브랜딩까지 다양한 시각 아이덴티티 디자인 활동을 펼치고 있습니다.
Joonghyun Cho began his career as a brand designer at Naver and later served as the Chief Design Officer (CDO) at an IT proptech startup. He is currently leading Studio Deudance, a brand design studio dedicated to creating functional designs that drive business growth. Additionally, he serves as a design expert advisor at D.CAMP, a startup accelerator.
He has participated in exhibitions such as Korea NOW! at the Louvre’s National Museum of Decorative Arts, the 5th Typojanchi, and the Russia Typomania Festival. His work has been featured in publications like étape (France) and It's Nice That (USA). He has also been invited to conduct design workshops at institutions such as the Moscow Art University, Kun Shan University in Taiwan, and Hongik University in Korea. Furthermore, he has spoken at major design events, including the Design Korea Festival, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Korean design promotion, and Adobe’s Make It conference.
In addition, he has spearheaded the Daegang Poster Project, collaborating with Korean designers to reinterpret traditional Korean content into posters. His design work spans a wide range of projects, from retail branding for spaces such as Osechill in Hapjeong, Slit in Hongdae, Zagmachi and Orer in Seongsu-dong, Hibarin in Hannam-dong, and Cheagbar, a bar frequented by musician Chang-wan Kim, to visual identity projects for Ilmin Museum of Art’s Immortal Love, as well as rebranding efforts for startups such as Taling and LawTalk.
